First, what does “ad” mean on KobStore?
On KobStore, an ad is the public post a business creates to describe a product or service. It can contain the offer’s name, price, photos, category and other details a customer needs before making contact. A seller might post an ad for a particular phone, a catering package, a plumbing service or a tutoring session. In each case, the ad is the customer-facing description—not necessarily a paid campaign.
Sponsored placement means something different: it is a paid way of promoting an ad. Keeping those meanings separate helps a business owner understand what is included in a plan and what requires a separate purchase. A seller can create an ad to explain an offer, upgrade to a paid plan for KobStore marketing placement, or pay to boost one ad or a wider group of ads.
Build the public page before asking promotion to do the work
The ad is only useful if the customer can make sense of it. Use a title that names the offer rather than a slogan. Add photographs that show the actual item, finished work or service context. Describe what is included, where the business operates and what affects the price. If the price depends on size, materials, travel or the customer’s requirements, state how that works instead of hiding every detail behind “contact for price.”
Then make sure the business page tells people who is behind the offer and how to get in touch. A customer who has seen a promoted ad may arrive with one specific question. If the contact details are out of date or the seller does not reply, the visibility has not served the business well. Keep availability and prices current, and decide who will answer enquiries when the owner is busy.
KobStore gives a business a public marketing website with its ads and business information. Sellers can share the link directly through WhatsApp, social media, printed materials or other channels they already use. That page also gives the seller a stable destination when posts on social platforms move out of view.
What a paid plan contributes
Foundation is free and provides space for up to 10 ads, with one image per ad. Published Foundation ads can appear in Google Search while the free period is active. Foundation does not include focused KobStore marketing placement.
Paid plans are one-time payments, not monthly plan fees. They raise the listing and photo limits, include a Verified badge and add KobStore marketing placement. Catalyst costs KSh 500 and supports up to 60 ads with three images each. Dominion costs KSh 1,000 and supports up to 200 ads with four images each. Legacy costs KSh 2,000 and supports up to 500 ads with five images each. Higher plans receive more marketing placement and rank above lower tiers in KobStore search and recommendations when boosts are not active.
The verified badge switches on automatically with a paid plan. It identifies businesses on a paid plan, while the offer details on each ad help customers decide what suits them. Sellers should keep their information accurate and current.
KobStore invests in promoting businesses. One-time plan payments help fund that work and help us direct limited promotional resources toward businesses whose owners have committed to presenting and marketing their offers. Paid ads may be promoted through sponsored placements across KobStore platforms and partner platforms where available. The plan explains the level of placement included; it does not mean every ad appears on every surface or that a certain number of customers will respond.
What a boost does—and does not do
A boost is a separate promotion for a selected ad or for all of a seller’s ads. It gives the promoted ads higher placement in KobStore search and recommendations for the time bought. Sellers can use it when they have one offer they want to feature or when they want to promote their wider catalogue. The whole-catalogue option applies a 30% discount to the per-ad daily rate.
A boost and a paid plan solve different needs. The plan changes the business’s ongoing placement level and capacity; a boost pays for a particular period of higher placement. A seller may choose a paid plan without boosting every ad, or boost a particular ad when a timely offer deserves attention. Check the amount and expected duration shown before paying. If the offer or photos need work, fix those first: additional placement cannot correct a confusing ad.
Put the customer’s next step at the centre
Promotion should bring an interested person to a clear offer and an easy next action. Tell the customer whether to call, message, request a quote, visit or book. Be specific about delivery, appointment availability and payment arrangements. After promotion starts, monitor which ads receive impressions and clicks, then compare those figures with meaningful enquiries and completed work. If an ad is viewed but earns no enquiries, review its relevance and details before increasing spend.
KobStore’s role is to provide the public page and promotional placements included in the selected plan or boost. The business owner knows their offer and serves the customer; KobStore makes the offer easier to discover and share. That division gives each side a clear job and gives a seller a practical way to improve visibility without confusing a listing with an advertising campaign.
