1. What KobStore collects
When you register, we may collect your business name, contact details, WhatsApp number, location, account credentials, and other information you provide while setting up your storefront or using the dashboard. We also store listing content, product details, order and enquiry information, messages, settings, and information about how the service is used. If you allow browser notifications, we use the information needed to send them to your device.
2. How we use your data
We use your information to create and maintain your account, verify your identity, enable your storefront, process payments, send service updates in the app, by email, and by browser notification when you allow them, improve KobStore, and provide customer support and market information. Published listings appear on Google Search. We may also show clearly marked sponsored listings from other businesses on storefronts. If you choose to contact a seller through WhatsApp, that conversation is between you and the seller. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Communications and marketing
KobStore sends service updates in the app and by email. If you allow browser notifications, we may also send service updates that way. Sellers may email customers who follow their stores. You may contact a seller directly through WhatsApp using the seller’s contact details or link; those messages are between you and the seller, not sent by KobStore. You can unsubscribe from non-essential KobStore emails using the link in the email or contact us.
4. Payments and processors
Payments are processed through Paystack. KobStore does not normally store card or mobile money details directly; those are handled by the payment provider according to its own security standards.
5. Who we share data with
We share information with service providers that help us run KobStore, such as payment, email, hosting, and support providers. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they use the site. It may use cookies and information about your browser, device, and activity on the site. Google handles that information under its own privacy terms. If you choose to contact a seller through WhatsApp, WhatsApp processes that conversation under its own terms and privacy practices. We share only information needed to provide our services.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account and business information for as long as your account remains active or as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or improve the service. Verification codes and some temporary records are deleted automatically after a short period. If a Foundation account has no listing after its five-day setup period, it enters a five-day deletion notice period. Listings in a Foundation account are hidden when the 14-day trial ends, then the account enters a five-day deletion notice period. Upgrading before the deletion deadline keeps the account and restores eligible listings; otherwise, the account and its data may be deleted, subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data where applicable. You can also ask us to stop certain communications or to review a specific data request through thecontact page.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to help protect your data. Passwords are stored securely, verification codes expire quickly, and access is limited to the people and systems that need it to operate the service.
9. Children
KobStore is intended for businesses and adults. It is not intended for children under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
