Common Questions
How does monthly billing work?
Your subscription renews automatically every 30 days. You can cancel at any time from Dashboard → Billing. After cancellation, your site stays live until the end of the current period.
What is the annual plan and how much do I save?
The annual plan gives you a full 365 days for 30% less than paying monthly for a year. One payment covers the entire period and renews automatically after 365 days. For example, the Starter plan costs KES 100 per month (KES 1,200 per year); annually you pay KES 840.
How do buyers pay for orders?
Buyers place an order through your store. You receive an instant alert — WhatsApp, SMS, and email — with the buyer's contact details, and arrange payment directly. Buyers can pay by cash, M-Pesa to your personal number, or any method that works for you.
What is the difference between WhatsApp and the WhatsApp Trading Bot?
WhatsApp (all plans) means buyers reach you on your own WhatsApp number and you receive order alerts there — every conversation is handled by you, manually. The WhatsApp Trading Bot (Standard plan and above) is an automated assistant on KobStore's WhatsApp number: it greets buyers, shows your products, takes their order details, and creates the order 24/7 — even while you sleep — then hands you the confirmed order to fulfil. On plans below Standard, buyers are simply directed to your own WhatsApp number.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes — on Growth, Pro, and Business plans you can connect your own domain (e.g. shop.mybrand.co.ke). Go to Dashboard → Custom Domain, add your CNAME record, and SSL is provisioned automatically at no extra charge.
Can I customise the look of my site?
Yes. All plans include basic customization — accent colour and font. Standard and above include full themes (bold, minimal, warm, dark), button styles, and section ordering. Go to Dashboard → Customize.
Can I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?
Yes. Go to Dashboard → Billing, choose a higher tier, and you will be redirected to a secure checkout. The upgrade takes effect as soon as payment is confirmed.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Monthly subscribers on auto-renewal are charged automatically — no action needed. If auto-renewal is off, you get a 7-day grace period after expiry. Renew at any time from Dashboard → Billing. Your site is paused, not deleted, if you do not renew.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. All new accounts start with a 30-day free trial on the plan you choose. You save your card during signup — a KES 50 verification hold confirms the card, but no subscription charge is made until the trial ends. Cancel before day 30 and you will not be billed.
Which plan should I start with?
The Growth plan is well-suited for active sellers — it adds weekly market intelligence, automated SMS flows, and up to 300 products. If you are just starting out, the Starter plan at KES 100/month is a practical entry point. All plans include the same 30-day free trial.
Why do broadcasts cost extra when order alerts are free?
Order alerts and OTPs are triggered by your buyers' actions — they are part of running your store, so KobStore covers them. Broadcasts and win-back campaigns are marketing you choose to send. Each message has a direct delivery cost, which we pass through via bundles. You only pay when you send.
Do unused message credits expire?
No. Credits never expire and carry over between billing cycles. If you buy a 1,000-message bundle and use 300 this cycle, the remaining 700 are available next cycle.
