Explain which checks are included, whether a road test or scan is needed, and when further diagnosis costs extra. Tell the customer that a fault code may require additional testing before a part is identified.
Explain whether the diagnostic charge covers inspection, scan, or a written finding, and what is not included in that amount. Ask the customer before proceeding to repair after diagnosis, then show the repair options and parts basis. Avoid claiming a fault from a warning light alone. Keep diagnostic and repair records together so a customer can understand why the final work differed from the initial symptom.
Separate diagnostic findings from a repair recommendation so a customer can choose whether to proceed.
Tell customers whether the diagnostic fee is due even when they decline the repair and whether it includes a written report. Explain when more testing needs additional approval. Record findings in plain language and separate confirmed faults from possible causes that need further checks.
Provide findings before requesting repair approval. Use a KobStore page to explain workshop services and diagnostic terms; create one.
