List the item originally requested and the alternative you can actually supply, including variety or grade where you know it. State the quantity basis (weight, bunch or count) and whether a substitute may differ in ripeness, size, colour or price. Do not silently replace one variety with another.

Before packing a perishable order, check the available batch and collection window. If the requested crop is unavailable, contact the buyer with a clear choice: wait, accept a named alternative, reduce the quantity or cancel under the terms you stated. Record the answer against the order so a helper does not guess later.

A substitute can affect cooking, storage or intended use; explain the practical difference rather than calling it identical. Keep produce clean and separate from chemicals, and agree seller-managed delivery or pickup timing directly. Change the public availability note when the stock is gone, but do not treat a few substitutions as evidence of general demand.
