Pair the maker's exact shade name or code with a photo of the matching package. If a swatch is available, identify whether it is a tester or a separate sample; do not open a sealed sale unit to create one. Use even daylight or neutral lighting and avoid filters that intensify or mute undertones.
Screens and cameras render colour differently, and a swatch cannot guarantee a match to every complexion. Explain whether the image shows a swatch, the actual product, or a representative sample. When several shades share similar names, label each photo individually so a buyer can distinguish them without relying on image order.
Keep open testers apart from sealed stock and update the listing if the supplier changes the shade code or packaging. Invite a buyer to check the code before payment if the distinction matters. Accurate identification is more useful than describing a colour with an unverified name such as “warm nude.”
