Tell the buyer before dispatch when the order needs more than one parcel. List which products and quantities go in each package, whether they will travel separately, and whether the split changes packing or transport costs.
Use a discreet reference that links each parcel to the same order without displaying personal details. Check the contents of each package against the item list, then record the carrier or handover information for each parcel where available.
A split shipment may mean different arrival times or extra handling, so confirm the arrangement directly before sending anything. Update the buyer if one parcel is delayed or cannot be dispatched. Do not describe the order as complete until all agreed items have been handed over. Use one order reference while identifying each parcel separately. Tell the buyer which parcel contains each requested item.
