Before dismantling or wrapping flat-pack furniture, compare panels and fasteners with the maker's assembly list. Keep screws, dowels, brackets, and other fittings in labelled packets matched to the relevant panel or step. Include the instructions if they are part of the offer.
Protect edges and finished surfaces without putting adhesive directly on them. Stack panels in a stable order and secure them so they cannot slide during collection. Photograph the parts and packet labels for your own handover record.
Tell the buyer whether tools, wall fixings, or assembly help are included. Count the hardware again before sealing the package, and disclose anything missing rather than promising a complete kit. A parts list helps the recipient check the set, but should not be used to imply that assembly is included. Keep instructions with the hardware packet.
