Credit can help a trusted customer buy today, but an unrecorded credit sale is not a sale you can manage. It is a future dispute. Record the customer name, phone number, items, total amount, amount paid, balance, date, and agreed payment date.

Agree the terms before handing over the goods. Avoid vague promises such as "I will pay soon." For regular customers, set a limit based on payment history. Keep personal and business credit separate. Send a polite reminder before the due date and a clear follow-up after it passes.

Review outstanding balances weekly. Stop adding new credit to an account that is already overdue unless you have a deliberate reason. A POS or credit book can help, but the policy must come from the owner. Credit is a customer service tool, not free financing. Protecting cash flow allows you to keep serving all customers.
