A supplier or maker image can explain the standard design, but it does not show the condition of stock you hold. Check that you have permission to use the image and that the pictured model, packaging, and included parts match the product being offered.

Label a reference image as illustrative and add a current photo when colour, wear, packaging, or batch differences matter. For a used, handmade, or one-off item, photograph the actual piece. Do not use a polished image to imply that you inspected stock you have not received.

When the supplied model or package changes, replace the old image and description before sharing the listing again. Keep the image source and any permission with your product record. Buyers should be able to tell which picture is illustrative and which one shows the available goods.
