A discount is a business decision, not a substitute for marketing. Before announcing one, decide whether the aim is to clear old stock, attract first-time buyers, increase basket size, or reward existing customers.
Calculate the lowest profitable price after product cost, payment charges, packaging, delivery support, and other variable costs. Set a real start and end date. State what is included, available quantities, delivery terms, and whether the offer can be combined with other discounts. Do not create urgency by claiming a deadline you will ignore.
Promote the same offer through your storefront, WhatsApp, and chosen social channels. Record sales, margin, new customers, and repeat purchases. After the sale, contact new customers with a relevant next step instead of another random discount. A well-designed promotion improves a business metric; it should not simply make the business busier at a loss.
